About The Founder: Samta Varia
I created ShaadiShop to improve the venue shopping experience for couples AND venues.
The inspiration for ShaadiShop came to me when I was planning my wedding. While there were a lot of photos of Indian weddings online, there wasn’t a lot of actionable info, especially about venues i.e. capacity, policies around outside catering, the ceremony flame, baraat etc.
I spoke to the Marketing and Catering teams at my wedding venue and other venues and shared my vision of creating a tool that drove quantity and quality leads to venues that simultaneously provided couples with the venue info they need.
Today, ShaadiShop is the largest marketplace for Indian wedding venues. We have driven over $5M in venue revenue.
Before starting ShaadiShop, I owned a direct marketing agency in Irvine, California.
I also, briefly, worked in Catering Sales at a Westin property in Washington D.C.
