The Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh is a great Indian wedding weekend venue. Especially for weddings with a lot of guests arriving from abroad. The Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh is less than 2 miles from the Pittsburgh International Airport. The Regency Ballroom features an almost 18-foot ceiling and seats approximately 700 guests for a reception with a dance floor.
If you’re having the wedding ceremony with lunch afterwards, the Catering team at the Hyatt will work with you to configure sections of the Regency Ballroom or other spaces at the hotel.
The Regency Ballroom is pictured below setup for a ceremony or event. The hotel will setup the chairs. They’ll also setup the stage and skirting for it. Your decorator will create the mandap or altar. The hotel’s reception package includes linens, china, silverware, glassware and more amenities.
Notice the chairs in the photo below. These are the chairs that come with wedding packages. You are welcome to rent other chairs and have them brought in.

Pointers
In the photos above you can see that they rented gold chiavari chairs from an outside vendor. These chairs look nice. But they’re not as comfortable as other chairs because of the ‘dandas’ – rods across the back of the chair. And if you’re sitting in them for 1-2 hours…most people are fine but think about having some other chairs for the elderly.
According to Raj Gujral, the Founder of Sound Nation and one of the longest running Indian wedding DJs in the country, ideally the DJ and the pandit or officiant are positioned where they face each other so they can give each other non-verbal cues. Such as play music, stop music, adjust the volume on the mic etc.
