Surprise Getaway Weekend Proposal

They met through work and dated long distance. Steve wanted the proposal to be extraordinary and enlisted Mamta’s sister to help. They came up with a plan that Mamta loved! Mamta shared their adorable proposal story with ShaadiShop.

On Thanksgiving weekend I was visiting Steve at his home in Phoenix. Early in the morning I was woken by loud music – a John Legend song. Confused and startled I got out of bed and headed towards the stairs where I found a trail of rose petals down to the living room.

When I got downstairs, there was Steve, ready to pop the question. I was so surprised and happy! We had talked about getting married but I had no idea when to expect him to propose.

But the excitement didn’t end there! He told me to hurry up and get ready as he booked us a weekend getaway to one of my favorite cities, San Francisco! He got us a room at the luxurious Fairmont Hotel in SF. The hotel is world renowned for their holiday decorations, I was so excited! During the holidays, their lobby is transformed into a Winter Wonderland. I love Christmas and Christmas decorations so staying there was a huge surprise and such a treat!

Christmas decorations were up throughout the rest of the city as well, so it was beautiful! We did so many of my favorite things in SF – went to see the tree in Union Square, visited the Boudin Bakery Tour at Fisherman’s Wharf, and I love ethical/responsible chocolate so we did tastings at various famous SF chocolatiers. It was the perfect way to start the rest of our lives together!
