Engagement Session Prep Best Practices

Engagement Session Prep Best Practices is a detailed guide in collaboration with Geeta Randery Photography about how to prepare for an engagement session for a wedding. Geeta has been photographing Indian weddings for nearly 10 years and is one of the most sought-after photographers in Southern California.

She shared 5 practical, easily-doable tips on how to prepare for a fun engagement session that will get you excited for your wedding and photos to use for your Save the Date and display throughout your wedding weekend.

{Preparing for Your Engagement Shoot}

  • Be comfortable! Wear things that flatter your figure and make you feel good…if you feel self conscious about what you’re wearing, it WILL show in your images.
  • Make sure you can “move” around in whatever you wear…you’ll sit, walk, jump, climb, and lay down…YUP!! I’ll suggest just about anything to get a great shot!
  • Most importantly, relax and be yourself! Think of your session as a fun date…these pictures are about celebrating your upcoming life together!
  • Lastly, have fun and stand up straight! Nothing’s worse than a sulky-bear who looks wilty! Good posture and a radiant smile make any outfit — and any photo — worth a MILLION bucks!
  • Pick a venue for your photos that is near/dear to you as a couple. Some sentimental meaning… it will help you both be as ONE in front of the camera. The natural chemistry will flow naturally in an environment you’re both comfortable with.
