The US Grant Hotel was built by the some of our 18th President – Ulysses S. Grant. The historic hotel is a luxury wedding venue, featuring four ballrooms, in downtown San Diego.

The US Grant Hotel has hosted a handful of Indian weddings but remains a venue that’s a bit off the beaten path. This hotel is very convenient for any guests arriving from within the US or around the globe as it’s a mere 2.5 miles south of San Diego International Airport (SAN).

Approx. 2.5 miles south of San Diego International Airport (SAN).

Notes: The US Grant Hotel does not have outdoor venue space. There are four wedding venues at The US Grant Hotel, with varying capacities ranging from 100 to 700 for a ceremony and 75 to 450 for a reception.

How will guests get to/from the US Grant Hotel? Guests can rent a car or use a rideshare app – the hotel 2.5 miles of San Diego International Airport. The hotel does not have an airport shuttle.

Rental Cars. At San Diego International Airport, the rental cars are not on-site. Take a shuttle to the rental car area accessible from the baggage claim level.

Where should you have your sangeet? Depending on the guest count you could have your sangeet or garba at The US Grant Hotel. Alternatively there are other hotels in downtown San Diego, Indian restaurant banquet halls, and community centers.

The US Grant Hotel and Muhurats

The US Grant Hotel does their best to work with your muhurat. They may not be able to host weddings in the very early morning or late at night with a baraat.

Hindu Dietary Requirements

The US Grant Hotel allows you to hire a caterer that is licensed and insured. Work directly with your caterer to prepare a menu per your dietary requirements.

Closest Gurdwaras

There closest Gurdwara is the San Diego Sikh Gurdwara in Poway, approximately 21 miles north of the hotel. If you prefer, you could have your Anand Karaj and langar at the Gurdwara, followed by cocktail hour and the reception at The US Grant.
