How to Make Tired Eyes Look Bigger & More Awake

Sometimes even with 8 hours of sleep, your eyes can still look tired. Here are a few make-up tricks to make your tired eyes look bigger and more awake.

Get your Brows in Shape
Eyebrows frame your eyes and create a flattering structure for them. It’s important to keep your eyebrows tamed; cleaning up the areas above and below the brows. Next, fill in any gaps with an eyebrow pencil to give more definition to your brows.

Use a concealer 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone
Start by applying concealer around your eyes and blend out with a concealer brush or beauty blender. This will hide dark circles or unevenness and will give an overall brightening effect to your eyes.  Set your concealer with powder or translucent powder which help make it last all day.

Eyeliner
If you enjoy wearing eyeliner, making sure it is blended is key. Leaving your eyeliner unblended can create harshness and make your eyes appear smaller. Using a soft brown eyeliner and blending it close to your lash line can create an illusion of bigger eyes.

Brighten your Waterline
Add a nude or white pencil liner to your waterline. This will instantly open and brighten them.

Lower Lashline
For your lower lash line, using a dark brown or black eye pencil, line the outer half of your eye. This will give an illusion of a wider more awake eye.

Curl your eyelashes
Curling your eyelashes helps your eyes to appear bigger as well. Straight eyelashes tend to cast a shadow on the eye area making them appear smaller. It only takes 20 seconds which can give you immediate results. Why not?!?

Mascara, Mascara, Mascara
Mascara does a wonderful job lifting your lashes, opening up your eye, and giving the illusion of bigger eyes. If you really want to commit to the look, consider investing in some false eyelashes!
